Sexual Assault Services
Crisis Intervention and Advocacy are available to survivors of stranger and non-stranger sexual assault on a walk-in basis between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday at our office located at 204 Patrick St. Mount Pleasant, TX 75455 and by the agency's 24 hour hotline, 7 days a week. SAFE-T accompanies the survivors to hospitals, law enforcement offices, prosecutors' offices and courts.
REDUCE THE RISK OF SEXUAL ASSAULT
Always carry money for a phone or taxi.
Know the exact plans for a date and your expected time of return, then inform a parent, roommate or friend.
Your ability to react under the influence of alcohol or drugs is reduced.
NEVER let a stranger bring you a drink, or leave your drink unattended.
IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED
You have the right to a Sexual Assault Exam.
Do not shower or bathe before the exam.
Do not wash your clothes before the exam.
Call Law Enforcement or go to the Hospital Emergency Room as soon as possible.
You may be eligible for Crime Victim Compensation from the office of the Attorney General of Texas.
